Blog Archives - Faithful Savings

So my son's first birthday is coming up and of course we are throwing a party. I also volunteered to host a table at the Church luncheon and had to decorate a table for the month of MAY (it was a month theme). While parties can get expensive and overwhelming, remember the point of the party is to celebrate and have fellowship; its not about how much you spent.  So heres the breakdown on the parties:

Luncheon to feed 10:
Centerpiece- FREE, had a red vase and used the flowers from my wedding to create a May Bouquet.

Paper Products- I shopped the clearance section at Party City and got all my paper products for $.99 a piece! They were gorgeous! Total $4.00

Chicken Salad Sandwiches with fresh chicken, celery, grapes, walnuts, onion, mayo and sour cream- $5.00 for chicken, the rest I had in my stockpile. I have a ton of leftover. I made 20 sandwiches!

Punch- bough the cheapest white pop and hawaiian punch $2.00, and I have a ton left over

Total for a cute luncheon: $11.00

Cristian's Birthday (so far):

Invites- FREE, used the 20 free prints at Walgreens to make a photo invitation. Front side had his picture, back side had his party information. Save on stamps by passing them out to people in person (I see a lot of my friends at church, small group, playdates, etc.) Only ship the ones to people you know you wont see.

Pinata- $9.99 - $5.00 coupon = $4.99

Plasticware- have a ton in my stock pile

Napkins and Plates- found a sale 2 for $1.00 (24 ct. of plates and 50 ct. of napkins) bought three of each. Total $3.00

Tablecloth and decorations: use the same decorations from past years, need to buy tableclothes
