My $100 trip to Target was pretty successful! My goal was to spend $100, but then see how low I could get the cost using coupons! I ended up only spending $92.09 before coupons, saved $43.67, and got $10.00 gift card with my diaper purchase! I got the items above for free- 2 puffs with vicks, 1 wet one, 1 colgate toothpaste, 1 burt bees chapstick, 4 liters of Pepsi, 1 gallon of milk, 1 1/2 gallon of chocolate milk, 2 packages of pampers. Total spent was 58. 44 ($4.22 was tax), and now I have $10.00 to spend on my next order! My goal is to head to Walmart next week and do the same deal and see how low I can get to $0.00. I will update next week with that order!
So it seems that God is seeing how much faith we have in Him and if we are going to trust Him in 2010. Rick's car decided that it didn't want to function anymore... this isn't a good thing considering he drives a lot for his job. WE are now down to one car, leaving me at home with the boys carless! While many people do this all the time, I rather not! We are in search of a car, meaning... another expense to start the year off with. God is faithful and He is our ultimate provider, so I will wait in expectation to see the good things He has in store for us and this new car!
Right now Wiseway is having an awesome deal on Quaker products and boy does this family love Quaker products!
The hubs love Aunt Jemimia pancake mix and syrup (hes a bit picky). He also love to make us some good old fashion oatmeal out of the Quaker Oats! I love the Oatmeal Square cereal- people always tell me its an old folks cereal, but I love it! I also enjoy keeping my car stocked with granola bars for when I am super hungry or the little ones get a wee bit out of control while Im driving! Anywho, so they have a 5 for $5.00 sale- buy any 5 Quaker oat products for free! The cereal alone is usually $4.19, so you better believe on stocking up on this! The granola bars are usually $2.50+, so Im stocking up on those too. And the Aunt Jemima pancake mix and syrup it $2.50-$3.50, so yep those are going in my stock pile as well! The greatest thing about these products is that I have coupons for all of them, making it an UNBELIEVABLE deal! See the picture above for what I got free! Im going back a couple times to do the deal! I headed out today to start my preparations for the winter season...I usually get sick and never seem to have what I need! So I made a quick stop at Walgreens and got some $.50 quaker oats! Big Rick makes some good oatmeal and it hits the spot when cold! Then I stopped by Walmart to get my two free bags of Halls cough drops and two packages of Sudafed! I am set to fight off colds and sore throats! Yay!
I like to try out the things that I tell people can get for free for many reasons 1. to be a reliable source (If I will do it and can get it for free, than so can you) 2. I love free stuff, especially free food!
So I went out today, with lil Rick anxiously awaiting a kids meal and a TACO bell taco and tried all the fast food freebies I posted here, here and here! Well here is what I got for a total of $1.84 In 8 days, these are the deals I scored:
4 free coffe mate creamers $7.28 1 box of Tampax tampons $6.99 1 container of strawberries $4.99 2 Juicy Juice $5.00 1 bag of Stacy's Pita chips $3.19 1 roll of toilet paper $.85 1 dozen eggs $1.50 total savings: $29.80 Check out Angel Food Ministries- "its a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing food relief and financial support to communities throughout the United States. They provide a blessing in a box for $30.00 for anyone, no restrictions!" Check out the Menu for this month!
I want to challenge you to take the $30 blessing in a box challenge! Ordered a box, save yourself some money, and see how long you can make the $30 last! It says it will feed a family of 4 for one week! If you take the challege, post a comment and tell us how the food is, how long it lasted, and any other details we might like to know! So what do you do when life throws you unexpected expenses? You may not get to plan for them, but sometimes you can prepare and be ready when things come your way. Sometimes the unexpected is good, sometimes it's bad, and other times it just happens.
The hubs and I were recently hit with an unexpected expense (a pretty big expense), but thank God we have time to plan for it! We were asked to be padrinos at a wedding in July- while its a privilege to be asked, its also an expense I dont want to deal with. Instead of dropping to my knees and asking God for help, I fumed and fussed about how and where the money was going to come from. Being mad isn't going to provide the money, but I know that God is faithful and will give us wisdom. He also blessed us by giving us 6 months to save! So what do you do when life throws unexpected expenses at you? Please share below! So it has been a week since the new year began and where am I so far with my goals...
$50.00 limit per month and Savings: Well its only Jan. 8th and already I have spent my full $50.00 for the month. Fortunately, I used that money to stock up on meat- pork chops, chicken, steak, etc. I know I won't make my goal for this month, but I know better for next month that I need to plan better- its all about planning! I am excited that I got 2 free juice, 4 free coffee mate creamers, a free box of tampons, as well as 6 steaks for $2.00. My water drinking has been quite interesting... the more I drink the more I pee. I feel like I am in my first trimester again- I can't seem to get out of the bathroom. I get up at least 3 times a night! I have lost 2 lbs, so I guess its paying off! Only 8 lbs to go! I have been spending more one on one time with Lil Rick, which is exactly what he needs! Big Rick finally put up the swing in the basement and so when Cristian naps, we go downstairs and play! Hopefully each week I will see improvements! |
